Has the Haseena Parkar release date been postponed again?

Ever since we saw Shraddha Kapoor in the form of Haseena Parkar, we have been eagerly awaited the see more of her character.

The movie starring the Kapoor siblings was originally scheduled to release on the 14th of July but was postponed due to other movie release clashes. After many such postpones and delayed it was finally decided that the movie will be out on the 18th of August.

Well turns out the audience will have to wait some more for the release. With SRK’s Jab Harry Met Sejal and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha scheduled to release on the 04th and 11th of August respectively, the film makers have decided to delay the movie release yet again. Reason being? They feel the similar release dates will provide the movie it’s due.

When asked about the constant delay here’s what a source close to the director had to say, “The decision to postpone the film was taken last week. Anil Thadani (the film's distributor), the producers and director Apoorva Lakhia realised that August was cluttered with too many releases. They realised that Haseena will have to compete with two biggies that are releasing in the weeks before — Shah Rukh Khan's Jab Harry Met Sejal (August 4) and Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha [August 11]. What makes it worse is that besides Haseena Parkar, there are three releases lined up for August 18 — Bareilly Ki Barfi, Newton and Partition 1947. The makers are confident of their film and don't want it to get lost in the clutter. That's why they decided to push the release.

Apoorva Lakhia also added to this saying, “There is no point in trying to get into the current clutter of releases. We all can see what is happening to all the films that are coming out. If we came on August 18 we would have Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha behind us. Akshay’s film has tax exemption. Why should we do something as suicidal as to release our film at a time when the competition is not only tough, but impossible to cope with?

Makes sense, doesn’t it? While the new release date remains unknown, we hope the filmmakers decide to not delay it anymore and help us out of our wait.
