Aishwarya Rai is always up for a role that has to be different from the rest. From a doting sister in Sarabjit to a sensational singer in Fanney Khan, she literally fits in every character that she plays. After a year-long break, Aishwarya Rai is ready to make a huge comeback with a new biopic.
The actress accepted the ground-breaking role of essaying a 19th-century Bengali courtesan Binodani Das. The untitled project is directed by Pradeep Sarkar who felt that Aishwarya Rai was the perfect fit for this role. Just like Parineeta and Mardaani, this film too is wholly a woman-centric one. It’s time to cheer for the SHEro aka Aishwarya Rai!
With Aishwarya Rai finalized as the lead actress in his next biopic, the director revealed, “Aishwarya was always on my mind for the biopic. I did reach out to her a few months ago. In the first narration itself, she liked the story and has said ‘yes’ to the project. I seriously think that she will.”
When asked about the story of Binodani Das, he said, “What all she had to do to achieve her goal makes an interesting story. She faced a lot of ups and downs. People who were close to her took her for a ride. Usne bohot saare dhokhe khaaye hain. It’s a wonderful tale and I hope things fall into place.”
Apart from this biopic, the actress will be starring Mani Ratnam’s south multi-starrer film Ponniyin Selvan.
