Ajay Devgn’s sport drama that brings into the light the the golden years of Indian football, is one of the highly anticipated films. Earlier, it was supposed to be released in November 2020 but has now been pushed to 13th August, 2021. Ajay Devgn will be seen as the legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. The movie will feature his life as the coach and the manager from 1950-1963. It was under his guidance that the Indian football team won gold at the 1962 Asian Games and he also led the team to the semi-finals of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.

While speaking with PTI, Devgn said, “Working on Maidaan has been very moving and emotional journey for him. It is a fabulous story, director Amit Sharma has done a great job. Times have changed, storytelling has changed. There are no deliberate commercial elements added to a film today, be it a song or the romantic angle. Maidaan has been very moving and emotional journey for me,” the actor said.

Taking to Instagram, the actor also uploaded the first look of the film and all we can say is that it one looks epic! The film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Rudranil Ghosh.

 

 

Maidaan is produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta. With Maidaan, the film marks its first collaboration between Ajay Devgn and Badhaai Ho director Amit Sharma.

There’s an interesting story about Ajay Devgn’s next cameo!

It’s no new information for us when Bollywood’s A-listers charge a bomb for their films and these aren’t hundreds or thousands but it’s ‘hundreds of thousands’. With more than 100 films in his career trajectory, Ajay Devgn promises to enter the 100 crore club once again. The Tanhaji actor’s sheer kindness can literally make your jaw drop. You know why we are saying this? Because Ajay Devgn is all set to make a cameo in SS Rajamouli’s upcoming action film RRR. But here’s the twist in the tale. He has not charged a single penny for this role. And we cannot stop gushing over him for his kind deed. Looks like he is clearly setting some major friendship goals with the director. This relationship stems from their collaboration in Rajamouli’s film Eega that was released in 2012. FYI, the actor has dubbed for the film’s Hindi remake Makkhi. After 8 long years, he is looking forward to work with his buddy-cum-director again.

As per the latest reports, a source said, “Ajay didn’t want a single penny for his guest appearance. Rajamouli’s producers were even willing to pay him his full market price for the guest role. Ajay said he would rather not take any fee for this friendly appearance for a friend.”

 

Along with his special appearance, RRR also features Alia Bhatt and south superstars- N. T. Rama Rao Jr and Ram Charan. Speaking about the film, the plot revolves around the lives of India’s freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The much-awaited film is scheduled to hit the silver screens in January 2021.

Indra Kumar’s next will star Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra!

Looks like, Ajay Devgn is all set to give his best shot in 2020. Ushering with a blockbuster, the actor is already high on success with Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior. Not to forget his previous outing in Indra Kumar’s Total Dhamaal which was a massive hit too. Now the director is prepping up for a social comedy flick starring the superstar himself.

 

Apart from Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra has been roped in as the co-star in the film. Collaborating for the first time, we cannot hold our excitement to see this duo’s comical avatar on the BIG screen. Rumour has it that Rakul Preet Singh has been approached as the leading lady for the film. Sounds interesting, right?

Due to prior work commitments of the lead actors, the film is likely to go on floors in May. Speaking about the new project, the sources said,” The filmmaker had narrated three scripts to Ajay. Since he has done a spate of serious movies including biopics, actioners, and historical dramas, the actor was looking for a light-hearted comedy. Ajay zeroed in on this script as he liked the larger point the story tried to make while eliciting laughs.”

The sources also quoted,” The film is along the lines of the Munna Bhai series as it revolves around two bumbling do-gooders with hearts of gold, who are out to reform society. It has been Indra Kumar’s passion project; he had been scripting it for years. He is thrilled that the story will finally be translated on screen.”

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn will star in SS Rajamouli’s RRR, Bhuj: The Pride of India along with a special appearance in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra recently wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming film Shershaah.
