Sushant Singh Rajput, a wonderful actor gone too soon!

Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden and saddening demise has left the Bollywood industry and many fans speechless. The actor breathed his last yesterday and was found hanging in his room by his servant at his Bandra residence. While a lot of speculations are being made about his death, all we can think are the emotions and thoughts that led him to take this drastic step. As per reports and briefings by Sushant’s house help, he was very disturbed and unwell for a few days. He had not spoken to anyone as well. He even let his house helps know that he had paid off his debts but didn’t have enough money to pay them their salaries.

As per media reports, the actor has been battling a war with depression for a while and was even getting the required treatment from Hinduja Hospital. Furthermore, his last phone call was to his sister and co-star Mahesh Shetty, from his television show Pavitra Rishta.

A lot of peers from the industry shared memories with the actors and their emotions. The loss of Sushant Singh Rajput indeed a lot of us to fathom.

I blame myself for not being in touch with you for the past year….. I have felt at times like you may have needed people to share your life with…but somehow I never followed up on that feeling…will never make that mistake again…we live in very energetic and noisy but still very isolated times …some of us succumb to these silences and go within…we need to not just make relationships but also constantly nurture them….Sushants unfortunate demise has been a huge wake up call to me …to my level of compassion and to my ability to foster and protect my equations…..I hope this resonates with all of you as well….will miss your infectious smile and your bear hug ….💔💔💔

18 months ago… My last msg to him was when he posted about his mom a week after the release of Kedarnath. He was missing her I assume while the movie was being celebrated. I didn’t know him well enough though our paths crossed at yrf, events & screenings every now & then. I can’t say I understood what made him make this choice. I can say I felt the pain he did about losing his bearings & feeling that void of his mother. I hope ur in a better & happier space my friend. I hope u have found ur peace. We will all wonder & try & make sense of what happened today. I just hope & pray that when the circus settles down we as a society in due course realise ur choice wasn’t driven by one singular moment or thing but a culmination of so much that defines a human being not just by the profession u were in. Rest my dear brother Sushant you are now I hope at peace.

It’s hard to think of my times in India without thinking about Sushant Singh Rajput. He was the first actor I was introduced to, as both of our debut films released 2 weeks apart. He was the actor who first introduced me on the Jhalak stage. He was the first actor who asked me to choreograph his song. I love Sushant deeply for his constant willingness to take those risks with me and step outside of his comfort zone. I will always be grateful for the advice he gave and knowledge he shared. He blew me away when on my very first episode of Jhalak he told the entire audience that he was a fan of mine from when I was on So You Think You Can Dance and his girlfriend was mad he had my photo as his mobile wallpaper😆 Sushant I’ve been your fan and will always be your fan! 🖤 RIP Dearest Sushant 🖤
